Deconstructed Cafe, KNK Road, Nungambakkam

The Deconstructed Cafe is a modern Indian bistro. Best described as an experiential unification of culinary art and innovative presentations in a chic ambience, their menu features a mix of gastronomic wonders along with some iconic dishes from around the world.From their furniture to the menu, everything’s deconstructed at the two-storeyed cafe. The wooden floors and painted walls are softened by eclectic furnishing of wooden tables and casual, angled seating. Go there for the Auzania, Cocktail Burger, Aloo Kurkure, Chilli Cheese Samosas and Croissant in a mug!

Gossip Bistro, Kannathur

Planning a long drive on ECR and want a nice place to grab a bite? Just make a quick halt at the Gossip Bistro. The decor is colorful with blue walls and yellow couches. There are vintage postcards of the Eiffel Tower, Jim Morrison and a series of beautiful Industrial-era bulbs. The place is run by a young couple, Ramya Venkataraman and Hari Prasad Ganesan and has a nice vibe to it. The bistro has quite a few options but do try their delicious pizzas and pastas.

Gusto Cafe, Nungambakkam

It is one of the newest themed-cafes in town. As you enter the place, the first thing you will notice is a Bob Marley look-alike with a rather pained expression. The cafe is divided into seven chambers and each of them have a very different look. You can see a stadium with stands; pharaohs from the Egyptian-themed one; cowboy themed one with bull heads and a beautiful balcony with Romeo and Juliet-themed dining space. It is one of the very few places in the city that allows hookah and has separate smoking and non-smoking sections in the cafe. They have quite a few food choices from honey-glazed chicken, potato cheese balls to steak, stroganoff and creme brûlée and tiramisu.

Ahavaa Cafe, Kilpauk

This cafe is set up in a 55-year-old bungalow at New Avadi Road and is fast becoming a hang-out spot for all those who love art. It is brainchild of Kavya Anna Abraham, daughter of popular industrialist Reji Abraham of Aban Group. The bungalow also houses a boutique, meeting place and a space for creative art. The cafe serves varieties of fries, chicken wings, wraps, sandwiches, burgers and more.
