The smoky chicken tangdi kebab from Jalandhar, melt-in-mouth galouti kebab from Lucknow and the unique Kadaknath Murgh Tikka and Spicy Prawn Koliwada compete to catch your attention at the ongoing food festival at The Great Kebab Factory at the Radisson Blu Hotel GRT Chennai . The delicious kebab curated menu is based on an interesting concept – Queens of kebabs. The menu pays homage to 12 queens of India and about 70 new dishes have been added from their ‘Queendoms’ to existing favourites. The festival is on till November 30 and will involve several interactive features and ‘selfie with Queens’ section. Throughout the festival, there are special offers planned for female foodies.

Often associated with male connoisseurs, The Great Kebab Factory has a certain masculine character associated with it. This festival intends to break the mundane and add a feminine element to kebabs. From Rani Manikarnika of UP to Queen Didda of Kashmir, there are kebabs from different lands of queens. The menu, which is set on rotational basis, has six vegetarian or non-vegetarian kebabs (depending on your preference), breads, biryani, dal and sabzi varieties followed by four varieties of desserts.

We walked in to The Great Kebab Factory on a Wednesday evening and relished the Gosht Galouti kebab, Kadaknath Murgh Tikka (prepared with a special variety of chicken from MP), Gosht Tabak Mazz, Jalandhari Tangdi Kebab, Maharana Tali Macchi and Prawn Koliwada. Our vegetarian counterpart was served a Subz Galouti, Angar E Paneer Tikka, Tandoori Aloo, Subz Narghisi Seekh, Tura e Ananas and Bharwan Karela.

Each of these kebabs were delicious and stood out in taste and texture. A complete gastronomic delight; the kebabs are prepared either by roasting on tandoor, shallow fried in tawa, deep fried in kadhai, steamed in pots and even grilled on stone.

The main course comprised of biryani, saag paneer. dal makhni, gulab jamun ki sabzi. gatte ka pulao and Bundeli ghosht. The dessert comprised of kulfi, malpua and hot jalebi with saffron milk.

On all days women will get a discount of 25% on lunch and if they drop in on Wednesdays, they will get the discount and a complimentary 30 minutes head/shoulder/foot reflexology session till the festival is on.

Take a bite of the succulent kebabs from the land of great queens of India through this month.
