After a swarm of Pan-Asian eateries in 2018, Chennai is swiftly looking at introducing more global choices for foodies in town. The year 2019 has begun on a perfect note with the launch of first Italian bistro, Nolita in Nungambakkam. This one is located in a lane right off the Anderson Road in a leafy alcove. It is owned by three individuals - Shanmugharaj (31), Shreya Bajaj Shah (29) and Rakesh Prakash (33). They have popular city restaurateur Sandesh Reddy as their chef partner onboard.

The décor is minimalist yet there are pops of colour that add life to the new eatery. The ambience is warm and the owners are up and about suggesting options based on your preference. The menu comprises of range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas and some soups, salads, anti pasti, pasta and dessert.

Their USP is the sourdough pizza base that is quite rare in the city. We believe Fatboy at Alwarpet offers some sourdough options but here it is the primary draw. Try out their Jalapeno, Fig Chutney and Bocconcini pizza, a delicious white pizza that will leave a lasting impact. The Roasted Cauliflower, Onions, Grana Padano and Walnut Pizza is another favourite. From the non-vegetarian section, do not miss Prosciutto and Rucola pizza, it is absolutely yum! The Shrimp Pizza with chilly, capers, lime and garlic is haven for seafood lovers.

In case you do want to try other stuff- do not miss their 3 Cheese Mushroom Veloute Soup, Lamb meatballs in Pomodoro sauce and Lemon Cream & Tarragon pasta.

We recommend the classic Tiramisu to round off the meal.
