Going to Germany for Oktoberfest might not be feasible for most of us due to myriad reasons. What if we tell you Oktoberfest is coming to town! Quite a few places in the city are hosting the festival and we got a chance to visit two of them over the weekend. We absolutely binged on delicious Bavarian delights and gulped on litres of beer. It was quite a heady experience and we would recommend you to try out both the places.

Okatoberfest, Vintage Bank, Hilton Chennai

came alive with the grand Oktoberfest celebrations on Friday night (September 21) and it was inaugurated in the traditional Bavarian style replete with authentic German culinary delights and lots of beer. The revelry began by tapping the keg of beer by Michael Wegener, Deputy Consul General of the German Consulate, Chennai and Arun PM, Commercial Director, Hilton Chennai.

Oktoberfest, 365 A.S., Hyatt Regency Chennai

The other place that we tend to visit every year is the since they have been hosting it for a long time (this is their seventh season). They rang in their celebrations on Saturday (September 22) through the ‘breaking of the beer barrel’ in a ceremony conducted by the Consul General of Germany, Karin Stoll, and popular German Executive Chef Alex Moser  from Andaz hotel in New Delhi. The hotel has planned an interesting array of activities along with German beers paired with Bavarian delights for enthusiasts.

Dive into an array of soft Pretzels, Roasts, Bratwurst, barrels of German beer and much more as the Oktoberfest celebrations kick start with a bang. This year the hotel has introduced a special vegetarian section in the curated menu to cater to wider audience.
