On April 10 this year, Mickey and Roshni had a great time. They played along, shared their bowls of food and lazed around in the sun. It was a special day for them. Pet buddies announced their official launch in the city through a ‘Furnival’- a get-together for furry friends in the city. Started by Siddhart Seshadri and Prakash Ramaswamy, Pet Buddies offers pet services and also looks to spread awareness on how to care for a pet. They plan to host such regular events and forum for humans and pets to bond.

There is also a burgeoning eco-system that is working towards ensuring pets have a gala time. From luxurious pet spas and grooming centres to special hotels for them, it is a good time for pets; to say the least! Take for instance, Shravan Krishnan’s (the man who saved Bhadra the dog who was abused by the two medicos and was much in news) Hotel for Dogs that was set up in ECR last year. They provide kennels for your canines but with luxury and comfort, you would associate with a perfect holiday. So next time you plan a vacation and want to leave your furry friend at a safe shelter, you know where to drop them! From climate controlled kennels, specially designed pools and pet boutique; they have it all.
One of the first cafés in town to launch a pet friendly service was Crimson Chakra in Adyar. The beautiful and serene outdoor café provides a pet friendly service. The outdoor seating provides a pleasant environment for your dog. There are trained pet caretakers here who will take your dog out for walks and keep them happy with mini food treats and delicacies. Thinking of a nice Sunday lunch with family and pet, this is the place to be! Sandy’s Chocolate Laboratory at Nungambakkam and Madras Square, ECR are other such pet-friendly eateries.
