Mission Street in Puducherry is now home to a Pinterest-y café called the PY Café. It is one unwinding space located in Ayesha flagship store and is a perfect spot for gathering and relaxing after an exhausting day. The café is based on the concept of ‘spread love, be creative and eat well’ and has vintage pastel as theme. The USP of PY café is their campaign to spread more good vibes around. The customers are given notepads to write letters to their loved ones and the staff posts the same to the concerned person.

The café greets you with a signboard that reads ‘welcome to our loud crazy fun place’ and motivational, mood lighting quotes painted on wooden boards throughout the space. It also has a wall full of old broken clocks that is inspired from Puducherry’s tag line ‘Give time a break’. The menu is a mixture of cuisines including Continental, Asian and Mediterranean. You can expect to get balsamic dressing as tiny little pearls; cold coffee is carbonated and black burgers. They also have Mediterranean and Asian thalis. They have everything from sandwiches, pasta, rice noodles, Thai curry, to all day breakfast options, quirky starters and lots more. People with a sweet tooth can check out their chocolate mousse, mango pannacotta, and artisanal Italian ice cream. They also have healthy choices like ragi wholewheat waffles.

The idea is to visit the café, engage in great conversation, binge on yummy food, make memories and have a good time. Every piece of furniture here is different and comes in different colours. There’s graffiti on the walls, metal sculptors, quirky lightings and more. Don’t miss the ‘mirror mirror on the wall’ painted opposite the actual bathroom mirror in a reversed script. Climb up to the first floor and you will find one wall filled with mirrors and the other with stenciled quotes in colourful frames. Each third step has a PY number plate like PY-HI-5.

This lovely space creation is a result of talented people like Stencil Artist/Graffiti Artist, Shunnal Lingade, Metal Sculptor, Rahul KP and Abhinaya, a young architect from Chennai and many others.
