It is raining pubs in Chennai. Over the last two months or so more than half a dozen spots have opened for chilling out have opened up. So, while the city got its first Sherlock’s Pub at Kilpauk about a month ago, the popular pub chain has already launched a second outlet at Guindy in the premises of Le Royal Meridien. As you enter the hotel, the entrance to the pub is on extreme left, separate from the main hotel lobby entrance.

There is the iconic Sherlock sign right at the entrance and red and black are the dominant colours. The place is pretty spacious with a massive bar counter. They have a fairly big dance floor and comfy couch seating as well as high chairs at the bar.

With outlets in Dubai and Bengaluru, Sherlock’s Pub has made quite a name for itself for its great ambience, music, variety of liquor and amazing food. Cocktail pitchers and fruity mocktails to wines and spirits; they’ve got it all. But the place is known for its amazing beer varieties – be it in mugs, pint or towers.

Not just alcohol, Sherlock’s Pub has some great food options including nachos, fries, fish & chips, steak, sandwiches and more.

For the uninitiated, Sherlock’s Pub was one of the first pubs to open in Bengaluru in 1991 at MG Road. In 2015, it was renovated to compete with contemporary bars and pubs in the city. Eventually they spread to other parts of the city and now have branches in Dubai and Chennai.
