Are you wondering where to organise your kid’s eighth birthday party or looking for a place to have a fun session with your girlfriends? Just head to Foodology and you will not be disappointed. Foodology is a recreational cooking studio for foodies.
“Cooking is an art form - not a chore. If you have a passion for cooking and wish to expand your culinary skills, you’ll want to treat yourself to a cooking session! You’ll encounter an educational, personally rewarding and fabulously fun culinary experience. You will learn to cook world cuisine with confidence and creativity,” says Shree, founder of the cooking studio. An IT professional, who has spent close to 15 years in management role, Shree juggled between her career and raising her children. She has always passionate about cooking and while working in Washington DC for close to a decade, picked up nuances of world cuisine. She had been organizing cooking events for a while and eventually when to she moved to India in 2013, she decided to take her passion for cooking to next level. In March 2014, she set up Foodology in Adyar.
The first of its kind in Chennai, the studio caters to almost all ages. Here every single participant makes their own dishes and at the end of the session get to eat a four course meal, that they just made!
“The studio also caters to private groups to make their next event unique and memorable. If you’re looking to put a tasty twist on your next birthday, anniversary, or friend’s night out, date night sessions for couples, we provide lots of option! So much more than simply dining at a restaurant, you and your guests will cook, mix and mingle for an entertaining, educational, unforgettable experience,” explains Shree.
The studio also encourages young chefs! Children as young as three learn to measure, mix, and roll, while tweens and teens learn essential culinary techniques like knife skills, vegetable cookery, pasta making and more as they make sophisticated, delicious dishes “For tiny chefs aged below five, we also conduct ‘Mommy and Me’ sessions. It is a great way to spend quality time with your child and introduce them to cooking and eating in an exciting and interactive way,” says Shree. Till date, the studio has learnt close to 700 kids to cook.
