Modern-age parenting is all about work-life balance. Many parents try to walk the fine line between giving their cent percent at work and spending quality time with their children. A handful of IT offices in the city have dedicated day-care facilities for kids in the city. Taking this idea, a notch further, a new co-working space allows you to bring your kids to work and since the space is located within a library, it is perfect place to let your kids acquire a reading habit early in life.
The Book Office opens into a beautiful children’s arena replete with five-foot high shelves filled with colourful books and lit with charming fairy lights. Working parents can leave their children to read here while they get some work done on the first floor, which is about 1,300 sq ft. It is meant to function as co-working space on weekdays and performance space over weekends. With high-speed Internet, a printer and endless rounds of coffee on offer, that is not a problem at all. And with an understated elegance comprising of white walls, comfy cushions and beanbags, you will surely feel at home.
Operated by The Kahanipuram Trust, a non-profit venture that seeks to promote initiatives revolving around children, books, and stories, the space was launched around March end this year and has been getting positive response from parents and kids alike.
