Madras Round Table 1 (MRT1) is a charitable organisation that has raised resources for community service initiatives focused on children’s education and healthcare for over 60 years, touching the lives of millions of people. They are proud to announce their flagship project for this year, the “Keep Them In School” campaign. In conjunction with this campaign, a fundraiser showcase by renowned designer Tarun Tahiliani will be held in Chennai on March 30th at ITC Grand Chola.
MRT1’s “Keep Them In School” campaign focuses on five under-resourced schools. The aim is to create more conducive, pleasant and safe learning environments for the students, which will encourage them to continue their studies. This is achieved through a variety of individual projects, such as building classrooms, renovating toilet facilities and other infrastructure-based initiatives. The beneficiary schools for this year are: Government Girls School - Avadi, Government Girls School – Perambur, Panchayat Union School – Thoraipakkam, Adhidravidar School – Kolapanchery and Lady NYE HSS, Taramani.
Speaking on the campaign, Tarun Reddy, Chairman of MRT1, said, “One of the unique facets of MRT1 is that we run on zero overheads, which means that 100% of all donations and funds raised are always deployed purely towards the causes we support. We have a long history of doing exceptional public service work, and are looking forward to what we can do through the year to add value, comfort and security to the students at the five schools we are supporting through the ‘Keep Them In School’ campaign. We are excited to partner with Tarun Tahiliani, and are grateful he has chosen to use his talent to raise funds for our work.”
