Feeling like binging around the festive season? Well, how about eating some delicious stuff and contributing to a social cause by doing so! It sounds like a win-win situation. Madras Midtown Ladies Circle 7 in association with Lakshmi Vilas Bank presents The Gourmet Room at Folly at Amethyst Café on Dec 13, 11 am to 7 pm. It is an annual fund-raiser event. The Gourmet Room is an exhibition of curated food, baked goods and preserves. This carnival is aimed at providing a platform for emerging chefs and caterers to showcase their talent and food.
The Gourmet Room aims at raising funds to build 12 classrooms in two Chennai-based schools - six classrooms at Sir & Lady M. Venkatasubba Rao Mat Hr Sec School and six classrooms at Madras Seva Sadan.
Chennai’s home catering space has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years. The Gourmet Room will feature few of the prominent names in this space. Among others they have Spice Root that brings to you gluten-free products like instant millet pancake mix, idli and dosa mixes; Kase that offers city’s first homemade cheese varieties; Splendid Food Company will showcase their range of ready to eat health food; All delish will serve delightful range of brownies, macaroons and biscotti; Gulabs Snacks and Savories will have a great range of khakras, pickles, sherbets and masalas to lure taste buds and Truly Scrumptious with their assorted range of cupcakes and ice-creams. You can also get to meet India’s own WillyWonka, Cocoa Trait ‘s head, L Nitin Chordia. They have over 15 different stalls set up for the event.
Few other surprises are in store, with lots of prizes to be won in a grand raffle draw with gifts sponsored by Vivek and Co! Be there and support the cause and take home a variety of treats.
