Are you the kinds who hunts for chilli flakes or a Tobasco sauce bottle, the moment your plate of food is served? Do you love loads of masala to spice up your curry or sambhar and hate bland food? Well, then we suggest you head to Kapao Dos restaurant in Wellington Estate, Ethiraj Salai in Egmore. They are challenging guests to finish off a plate of their Bhut Jolokia doused chicken nuggets within 90 seconds. There is also a catch – you can’t have a sip of water for two minutes, post finishing your challenge. Once you successfully complete the challenge, you will win a lovely dessert from their in-house dessert line, Crumb and also your photo will adorn the ‘Wall of Fame’ in the premises.
Do not take this one lightly! Bhut Jolokia, grown predominantly in Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, is rated around 1,041,427 on Scoville scale. The Scoville scale is a measurement of the pungency (spicy heat) of chili peppers, or other spicy foods, as reported in Scoville heat units (SHU), a function of capsaicin concentration. Bhut Jolokia is about 400 times spicier than the Tobasco sauce on the SHU! Yes, you read that right.
