We all have driven around ECR looking out for good food and some great drinks. The efforts have been futile so far. However, the situation looks lot different now. The ECR stretch has seen opening of plush resto-bars over the last couple of months. The newest hotspot is called Monk’s Plate-The Zen Bar. It is a three-storeyed, spacious setting in the Casa Grand Elita complex. Monk’s plate draws strong inspiration from Zen learnings, which is evident in the numerous installations within the premise.
Monk’s has adequate seating, cozy lounge corners and a well-stocked bar. Interestingly, a well-planned Wall Art connects the three storeys. At the entrance, you can’t miss the installation of a monk levitating in all earnestness giving a sense of intrigue as one walks in. The dramatic ‘Zen Garden Installation’ on the third floor complements the cozy lounge seating overlooking the bustling East Coast Road and is perfect for all those who love to quietly sip on their alcohol and relish good food.
But if you intend to life your spirits, head to the basement area. With a breath- taking calligraphy mandala art and a meditating monk looming over an otherwise trippy vibrancy, this is one place to have some fun. Monk’s plate dishes up some awesome Pan Asian and Continental eats with the usual small bites to boot.
