Sprawling over 9,88,338 sq.ft., it is an expansive destination with an ideal retail mix dedicated to international brands, premium men’s and women’s wear, restaurants and a huge cinema. It is spread across three levels.
VR Chennai is home to the first-ever-store of the organic clothing brand, Zalza. Utsav by Manbhavan and Lamy have their first stores in the city here. Havaianas’ first store in India is located here and it also has Apple’s largest retail store in Chennai. There are over 250 international and national brands and yes, it has a massive 10-screen multiplex.
The mall has a cultural theme that glorifies the rich heritage of Chennai and Tamil Nadu. In extension of this, the four entrances are framed by gopurams or soaring temple towers adorned with Madras Checks-inspired motif, that contains a wealth of art pertaining to the theme. The most striking theme, that runs through VR Chennai, is the Dasavataaram - which captures the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu through art installations and murals.
VR Chennai opened its doors to the public from June 22 onwards.
