Bhut Jolokia, grown predominantly in Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, is rated around 1,041,427 on Scoville scale. The Scoville scale is a measurement of the pungency (spicy heat) of chili peppers, or other spicy foods, as reported in Scoville heat units (SHU), a function of capsaicin concentration. Bhut Jolokia is about 400 times spicier than the Tobasco sauce on the SHU! Yes, you read that right.
