It is summer already in Chennai and the temperatures have already started soaring. In probably two weeks from now, you would be dreading to even step out for a second in the sun. Taking day trips will be a nightmare. So while it is still breezy outside and the sun’s heat has still not made you feel like running indoors, take some time out and take your kids to these awesome outdoor places for the weekend:

The Farm

Most of the kids, who are born and brought up in big cities and metros are hardly aware about the life in agricultural hinterlands. Most of them have no clue how and what having a farm feels like. So just take them to The Farm located at Semmancherry Village on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). This place is a treat for children as it offers the authentic experience with its sights, sounds and smells of a farm. The farm has poultry, cattle and horses, and grows organic vegetables. The kids can feed the animals, pet them, and depending on the time of day, even participate in the milking process. Older children are welcome to pluck vegetables. After the farm walk, they can try their hand at making pizza, right from rolling the dough till topping it with cheese. Apart from these activities, they enjoy a horse ride, play board games, or use the equipment for outdoor sports.
